Swags are as ingrained in the Australian way of life as Vegemite and pies at the footy. 

Even those who have never slept in one will resonate with the image one invokes, the alure of the bush, campfires and spinning yarns. 

But what happens when they’re no longer used? When their zips are ruined and their canvas is no longer waterproof?

This is where Downunderlust Canvas comes in. We take old swags, tents and canvas tarps and give them their second lives. By turning them into functional and durable bags, organisers, carriers and totes we can continue their story and stop additional fabric waste ending up in landfill. 

From her tiny workshop in the heart of the Gibb River Road, Kim lovingly creates each piece. Together with her partner Matt, every design is tested in their very own camping setup.
